This post is a little boringly written. Sorry.

The language pledge ended on Thursday August 15, and I left Middlebury on Saturday August 17.

We had a artsong night (and I keep wanting to type nicht or nacht instead of night). The German school has a program for opera singers and they all sang one or two pieces in German.

I hiked, played volleyball, and played table tennis.

Lots of parties with dancing and music.

We read the original Lorelei poem. And some fables from Kafka: Das Gesetz, Ein Kleines Fabel, Gibs Auf. Some fairy tales too.

I sang Devil in Disguise by Elvis Presley in German (translated by me with help from a professor). (video)

I made a poster about the Battle in the Teutoburg Forest (Varusschlacht) and presented it to the class.

The opera students performed on the weekend before the program's end. It was good.

On the last day of the language pledge we all sat in an auditorium, heard some speakers celebrate and reminisce, the counted down from ten and spoke English again.

It was a great time. I really like the people I met there.

Update: I wrote a profile for the school website here.
